Alistair Darling tried to throw us off a festive bent this week with his pre-Budget report. There were a few interesting announcements worth getting grips with, which we covered in full, and an interesting boiler scrappage scheme you may be able to take advantage of, which we delved a little deeper into. But it was soon forgotten in a week of festive preparations.
Our Christmas spirit was in full swing all week, with advice on entertaining the kids for less, a celebration of festive price wars, and advice for anyone considering getting the kids a mobile for Christmas.
Of course, into every week a little rain must fall, so we also examined the rising cost of Christmas, and the falling fortunes of the UK on an economic world stage.
It's been a big week, and is only set to get bigger next week when proper pre-Christmas panic kicks in.
Good luck!

There was hardly any time to get excited about Christmas this week, as we were inundated with money stories. There was the serious news, with the total bill for the financial crisis hitting £850 billion and an affordable housing crisis.
There was good news (sort of) on the biggest ever crackdown on fake websites and Co-op joining the Christmas price war.
And there was silly stuff, with the news of crooks who tried to pull off a heist with a David Brent passport.
We did, however, manage to squeeze in a couple of Christmas tips, including how to beat Christmas tradition inflation and how to avoid the hype over those Go Go hamsters.
With the Pre-Budget Report out next week we can prepare for more of the serious stuff filling the headlines... but we'll be working hard to bring the odd spot of Christmas cheer too.

We've been reeling from the shock this week.First Jedward left the X-Factor - revealing a danger lurking out there for all of is.
Then Katie Price left the jungle - prompting questions of when it can be a bad time to leave your job.
Then consumers lost out to the banks at the high court - with a ruling they can carry on imposing outlandish overdraft charges.
Then a survey revealed families are sick of Ryanair.
But undeterred, we soldiered on, finding glimmers of hope in dark corners.
Guy Browning revealed the joys of selling your home.
We reveled in a minor victory for the consumer over water bills.
And we revealed a great way to get a bit of breathing space from your mother-in-law this Christmas.
Here's to a less shocking week... with just a touch more hope please....

So another week of frenzied festive preparations are over. Walletpop has certainly been getting into the swing of Christmas this week. We explained how to avoid the hell of Christmas shopping, revealed the best of the high street pre-Christmas sales, and introduced some great panto stars for this year.
We also brought you an early Christmas present, with our first column from Guy Browning, on how to upset and annoy people.
But it hasn't just been a week of uplifting festivities. As ever, there was plenty to worry us in the world of money.
There was a credit card security breach that could affect anyone who has used their card in Spain.
Cynicism about whether comparison sites are all they are cracked up to be.
And fears of a house price crash.
Here's hoping next week brings all the good news!

It has been a scary old week for Walletpop. First there have been a number of new scams hitting the headlines, including the tax refund scam and a new credit card scam.
We have also been warming up for Halloween with a horror film festival for less and tips for a bargain halloween.
And for real horrors we offered a few tips on what to get up to this half term.
Fortunately, we also had our lighter side, exploring the laughable perils of the Wii, and 1,431 - the funniest number in the world.
Here's to a much less frightful week!

This is the last weekend before the clocks change, so you better make the most of that dwindling light. Before you know it we'll be lighting that bonfire and wrapping those presents. But before we crack out the mulled wine and totally embrace autumn, better tell you what we've been blogging about this week.- How to make the tax return a little easier.
- Bag a bubbly bargain.
- Want a free house? Alright then.
- Blown your student loan budget already? Help is here!
- There's more talk of banking bonuses - are they fair, even with the new rules?
- The Spanish have cancelled Happy Hour apparently.

This week was dominated by a few big pieces of news. The Tory Party conference was in full swing, so we rounded up the big proposals from all three parties and what it means for your money. We also had to contend with the news that Royal Mail is out to destroy Christmas with a series of strikes. We covered some alternative presents that don't need posting, and why perhaps the strike isn't such bad news after-all.
And yet more misery came in a new report on the future of house prices.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom.
We revealed the next big thing on the social networking front.
An interesting job opportunity for wannabe spies.
A lesson in how to bounce back from Sarah Ferguson.
And some creative ways to keeping the costs down without compromising on life, including the best restaurant deals and how to create some space in your life.
Which should keep us going, no mater what next week throws at us.

It has been a weird week, with all kinds of strangeness, from the freebie that ended in public indecency to the Grandma for sale on eBay.However, we have also seen some exciting developments that could almost amount to a pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel, as HSBC declared an end to the house price slump and the recession officially ended.
Meanwhile, as we all deal with the ongoing trauma of the financial crisis, there could be a welcome financial boost, as a payment protection insurance court case may mean a payout for you.
But before we get carried away, there was a stark warning that your personal life could cost you dear, and you need to beware the ex-factor.
So a week of ups and downs, nudity and nans for sale.
Roll on next week!
