Manufacturing revival underpins Britain's recovery from recession
Filed under: Financial Crisis, Entrepreneur
Britain's economy has bounced back from recession more strongly than first thought, thanks to a revival in British manufacturing. Hammered by the worst recession in decades, manufacturing is now rebounding. Output jumped by 1.2% between January and March, its fastest growth in four years. Apparently there is still life in industry, even though its share of the economy has shrunk to just 13%, from 20% a few years ago.Who'd have thought that manufacturing might be the bright spot in Britain's recovery?
