Getting drunk in front of your boss, making a fool of yourself with the office junior, then engaging in inappropriate behaviour with the photocopier. The work Christmas party has always held the potential for head-hanging, career wrecking nastiness. But for those who manage to avoid the worst excesses of festive tomfoolery, it's also the one thing we can look forward to at the gloomy, cold end of the year.

Except this year, of course, where one in five companies have cancelled Christmas.

Bah Humbug and all that.

But, wait, don't slump into a festive depression, because amidst this misery, an odd trend has started to emerge, and it's one that actually gives us a little extra to look forward to.

It has been a scary old week for Walletpop.

First there have been a number of new scams hitting the headlines, including the tax refund scam and a new credit card scam.

We have also been warming up for Halloween with a horror film festival for less and tips for a bargain halloween.

And for real horrors we offered a few tips on what to get up to this half term.

Fortunately, we also had our lighter side, exploring the laughable perils of the Wii, and 1,431 - the funniest number in the world.
